How does your innovation work?
In low-resource settings, where many women do not have access to emergency obstetric care facilities, there is a compelling need for nonsurgical PPH treatment methods that can keep women alive when surgery is delayed or unavailable. An affordable balloon tamponade, which is a proven, high-impact intervention, would expand access to a health intervention that addresses the considerable morbidity and mortality caused by PPH.
