Hydroponic Green Forage (HGF) makes it possible to raise livestock in relatively small, resource-constrained areas.
How does your innovation work?
In Anchonga, one of the poorest districts of Peru. Overgrazing livestock, a common source of livelihoof in these areas, also represents the single most important cause of environmental degradation in the Andes. Stromme Foundation and Tierra de NiƱos will adapt a technological solution known as Hydroponic Green Forage (HGF) to cultivate grass from barley in greenhouses on multi-level racks.
